Plataforma "La Marina" - Formentera
The journey from our dive centre takes about 45 - 55 minutes over open water. "La PLATAFORMA" is one of the most famous dive sites in Formentera and probably also one of the most unusual.

This is a former fish farm that was only used for just about 2 years. It sank in the winter of 1994/95 due to lack of maintenance. It consisted of 2 hexagons braced with nets in which dorado (gilthead seabream) were farmed.
It is located between the offshore islands of Espardell and Espalmador.
The upper platform is at an angle of 90 degrees. The uppermost side is 11m below the water surface, the lowest at 32m on the sandy bottom. This is where the remains of the second hexagon and the supporting pillars that carried the upper structure are located. The sunlight falls through the 4 openings of the platform and covers the entire scenery with a mysterious effect of light and shadow.

At the anchor rope, the "experienced divers" descend to the top strut and from there to the remains of the second hexagon.
The ascent is along a beautiful overgrown side beams to the anchor line.
